John broke the world record for paper aircraft distance in 2012; a record he still holds. Author of four books of original designs, John has been called the world’s foremost expert on paper airplanes. His planes are recognized around the globe, and one was featured in the movie “Paper Planes”.
The Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum will be inducting John’s aerodynamically unique, world record design, into the collection, as part of the reopening of the “How Things Fly” exhibit in 2022.
John has been featured on Conan, TV-Globo (Brazil), NatGeo, Discovery, Science Channel, The Hallmark Channel, ESPN, NFL Network, CNN, ABC, CBS, and NBC. His most recent appearance on WIRED garnered more than 28 million views, becoming one of the top WIRED videos of all time.
ZOOM LINK will be posted the day of the program on our website.
The summer reading theme for this year is “Reading Colors Your World,” and with your help, we can brighten the lives of West Bend library users of all ages. We’re planning all kinds of fun, grab-and-go take-home activities for all ages. This is where you come in: we hope to be able to offer prizes to the winners of our various contests, and the cost of providing take-home activities and crafts adds up. A donation of any amount can help offset those costs, and will go a long way toward supporting West Bend area youth and families in their pursuit of literacy, education, and even joy. If you can help us spread a little sunshine, we’d be very grateful. If you would like to donate, let us know!

The May book is Pig the Slob by Aaron Blabey which was chosen for Screen-Free Week 2021.
Our wireless internet is on even when we're closed, and it reaches outside the building! Hang out in the car, or in Patrons Park, and you'll pull a signal from WBCMLWireless. No password required, available 24/7!
