Community Outreach
Residents of Washington County, of any age, who are confined to their home or institution for any reason, (permanent or temporary) are eligible for Outreach Services.
If you are unable to visit the library because of physical limits or special needs, the library will deliver materials to you. An appointment will be made for the Outreach Librarian to visit your home and arrange a flexible schedule for her to deliver and pick up materials from the West Bend Library.
We offer these same services to people who reside in assisted living residences or in limited and extended care facilities. The Outreach Services Librarian also works with activity directors and therapists to provide materials that will assist them with their programming for residents.
We have books, magazines, and large print materials, both fiction and non-fiction. Books on cassette and CD, where the book is narrated and played on a standard cassette or CD player. And current entertainment music and videos as well as musicals and classics! We also have Bi-Folkal Kits that contain audiovisual materials on many different topics including holidays and vintage classics.
For more information, contact Nancy Larson at nlarson@westbendlibrary.org or call her at 262-335-5151, ext. 5241. Also visit our Community Outreach page here.

Memory Café
Memory Cafe is currently not meeting in person due to COVID-19. Stay tuned for more information!
What is a Memory Café?
Memory Cafés are places where persons with MCI (Mild Cognitive Impairment), early-stage Alzheimer’s, or a related dementia can go with their care partners to socialize and have fun with other people going through similar things. A Memory Café has no real agenda or stated purpose except to enjoy each other’s company. Cafés provide a time where you do not need to focus on the diagnosis, while having a great time connecting with each other as a family or creating new friendships.
To register, please contact Tammy Dickman at 262-335-4497 if it is your first time attending.
When Is It?
4th Tuesday of every month from 1:30 – 3:30 PM
In December, the meeting will be held the 3rd Tuesday.
West Bend Community Memorial Library's Memory Café is held in conjunction with:
