You've finished summer reading; now what? If you turned in a completed paper reading record, bring your free book coupon to the Children's Information Desk on the first floor to claim your prize! If you finished on Beanstack, let the librarian at the desk know, and they will give you prizes. 

August Reading Program

Want to keep going? Kids and teens are invited to earn try our August Reading Program, where you get prizes for reading during the month of August! Download or pick up a reading record, then color in one icon for every 20 minutes of reading. When you're done, you will receive a prize bag and scratch off ticket. Scratch off your card and see what you win! It might be a coupon for a free Cousin’s sub, a 10” Eaton’s pizza, a $5 or $10 gift card, or a few other scratch-off surprises you might win! Prizes begin August 8.

Week 1: Cubee crafts - pick one up or print at home! Pick one or several and try your hand. We recommend card stock.

Week 4: Folded Book Page Bracelets - You can use any type of paper! Instructions are here.

Week 5: Monster Bookmarks - These work best with construction paper or colorful card stock, but it shouldn't be hard to make them at home! Instructions here; template here

Summer Volunteering


There will be no in-person volunteering at the library this summer. Instead, there will be a separate Beanstack challenge (and printable/pickupable volunteer activity log) for teens and preteens to earn volunteer hours.

Adult Summer Reading: Imagine Your Story

The Adult Summer Reading Program starts June 15 and runs through August 15, 2020. Adults can enjoy summer reading fun as well! Read as many books as you would like, review them, and enter in for prizes. Reading slips are now available. They can be picked up at the library, printed from our website, and reading can be logged through Beanstack ( Slips can then be dropped off at the library, emailed to Sara at or logged online with Beanstack. Prize information will be posted online as well.

New this year, we will have take home craft kits available for adults! Supplies will be limited, but pick up will be available at the reference desk. Look for new ones every few weeks starting June 15!
