These online resources and databases are available to you from the West Bend Library, the Monarch Library System, and through the State of Wisconsin's Department of Public Instruction. They are all accessible 24/7 (except Ancestry, which is in-library use only) with your library card. Call the Reference Desk at 262-335-5152 with any questions about these databases and resources. Did you know you can download digital magazines and eaudiobooks with rbDigital? You can download an app for Apple products, Android devices, and even your Kindle Fire to do so! Give it a try!

The West Bend Library will be moving our digital ebooks and audiobooks from RBdigital to the Libby app as part of our OverDrive collection on MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 14. You will continue to be able to browse, borrow, and enjoy all the same great ebooks and audiobooks you loved in the RBdigital app, now available in Libby.

If you have already been enjoying the Libby app, there will be no change, other than you may notice even more great titles available for you to borrow.

If you currently have a book checked out in the RBdigital app, it will be available through the remainder of the lending period, so you can finish your title without disruption or risk of losing your place in the book. Holds will not be moved, but you may export your Transaction History from the RBdigital websites by accessing My Account > Profiles. You can place holds on those titles again in Libby.

Ancestry Library Edition (temporary remote access through September 30th)

We have temporary access to Ancestry through Badgerlink that you can get from home! Follow the steps below to access Ancestry. 

1. Follow this link to Badgerlink.

2. Under "Choose Your Library or School", select "West Bend - West Bend Community Memorial Library" in the drop-down menu.

3. Enter your West Bend library card number. 

4. Return to the library's website. Use your browser's back button, THEN CLICK HERE.

5. Start using Ancestry from home.

Ancestry Library Edition includes records from the United States Census; military records; court, land and probate records; vital and church records; directories; and ship passenger lists. (In Library Use Only)

Archive of Wisconsin Newspapers 

Are you looking for a special news article? Wisconsin Newspaper Association's Archive of Wisconsin Newspapers offers the full-text of daily and weekly Wisconsin newspapers from 2005 to 90 days ago, plus newspapers from the 1800s and 1900s. This is provided by Badgerlink.

HeritageQuest: 

Do you like genealogy and history? Use Heritage Quest to find ancestors and relatives in the complete set of US Federal Census Records 1790-1930. Also, find information on people and places described in over 25,000 family and local histories.

History Reference Center 

For teachers and students, this resource offers full-text books, magazines, historical documents, biographies, and multimedia. It also provides nearly 57,000 historical documents and 40,000 historical photos and maps. Also get access to more than more than 1,990 full-text reference books and full-text articles searchable by reading level indicator (Lexile). This is a great database for homework and research!
